Everlasting Love, Unshakable Faith

UMKC Conservatory Singers Concert. Ms. Stott is a featured alto singer in Herbert Howell’s Requiem.

Everlasting Hope, Unshakeable Faith is a concert exploring the bonds of relationships. The centerpiece of the concert is Dale Trumbore’s I was born– a piece written as a response to a Twitter prompt: “Start typing ‘I was born,’ then use predictive text to write the rest.” The text by Genie Hussain became the focus of this concert: we are born to be great friends and to love one another. This theme is explored through ideas of earthly and heavenly love in times of struggle and times of joy. The concert includes selections from J.S. Bach’s Jesu, meine Freunde Herbert Howell’s Requiem, and additional music by Undine Smith Moore, Moses Hogan, Maurice Durufle, and others. The concert is general admission with a free will offering.
